Description Goals
World Renowned for its Patented Hot/Cold Gel Therapy. Accepted worldwide as the first and most effective Stirrup to deliver cryotherapy. The Ossur Gel Hot and Cold Ankle Brace lets you put the heat or cold where you need it.

This ankle brace is ideal for minor to moderate sprains, post cast support, general strain of the ankle, and also general cold or hot therapy. It secures easily to the ankle with the included adjustable velcro closure straps, and also has removable hot/cold gel in case you simply wanted to use it as a regular ankle brace. Also included with the brace are adjustable heel straps, side stirrups, an Achilles strap, and lace locks for maximum comfort, adjustability, and stability. Activating the hot or cold is as simple as gently bringing the temperature up in a microwave at 15 to 20 second intervals, or placing the gel pad in the freezer for 20 to 60 minutes. When you need more hot or cold, simply place it back in the freezer or microwave until it reaches the desired temperature.

Gel Installation/Usage

Installing the gel pad after heating or cooling it is a snap. Just place it back in the slot that is on the brace, and use the tabs to seal it in position. When you want to heat it up or cool it off again later, simply undo the tabs and heat or cool the pad to whatever temperature you need. Freezing the pad will help reduce swelling, especially when the foot is elevated for 15 to 20 minutes while in the device. Heating the pad will provide a therapeutic feel and may assist in warming up an ankle to help reduce pain, while also increasing blood flow through the dilation of blood vessels.

Product Care
The pad is not machine washable, but can be hand washed with a mild soap and some cold water. This ankle brace is not machine dry-able and must be hang dried. The product should not be bleached or exposed to direct sun for a long period of time as it can degrade the materials used in the brace.

It's important to note that using flames to heat the gel pad is improper and will destroy the gel therapy pad. It should also be noted that the manufacturer highly recommends you test the gel pad with the back of your hand before applying it to the ankle. You should also inspect the ankle area after each use to ensure you didn't accidentally burn or freeze the skin in contact with the pad. It's recommended that you wear a sports sock as well to avoid burning or freezing the skin with this ankle brace. If you have diabetes or vascular issues, the manufacturer recommends you contact a physician before using ankle braces that deliver hot or cold therapy.
