"The padded and extended leg sling gives my mother the extra support she needs, especially during longer transfers. The mesh version is perfect for showering."

Arjo Clip Sling with Padded & Extended Legs

The Clip sling-padded legs and extended legs is used for a range of everyday patient handling activities, such as bed and chair-related transfers. It has additional padding around the leg pieces to provide extra comfort. The extended leg sling is suitable when a larger circumference is needed to reach around the thighs.

Selecting the most appropriate sling is important to ensure that it is suitable for the patient/resident, for the type of transfer required and compatible with the lift being used. The use of patient/resident handling equipment such as mechanical lifts with the appropriate sling is a core component of safe patient handling programs.

This sling is intended for assisted transfer of passive patients/residents with limited ability to move and require full support during transfer.

Arjo Clip Sling with Padded & Extended Legs

  • Contoured, seated support
  • Padded and extended leg design
  • Polyester and mesh options
  • Clip style compatibility
  • Machine washable

The sling is to be used with passive lifting devices to transfer patients in a seated/semi-reclined position to and from bed, chair, wheelchair or hygiene device during care activities and from the floor. Many patients may benefit from additional comfort around the legs which a padded sling solution can provide.

The clip slings are used in combination with DPS (Dynamic Positioning System) spreader bar, a system that allows the caregiver to position the resident or patient in the sling - from upright to reclined without needing to do so manually, helping to reduce physical caregiver effort.

This sling should only be used together with Arjo passive lift systems (clip attachment) in accordance with the allowed combinations page on the specified section of the Instructions for Use.

A patient lift is a device designed to assist caregivers in transferring individuals with limited mobility between different positions, such as from a bed to a wheelchair. It is ideal for patients with conditions like paralysis, severe arthritis, stroke recovery, or post-surgical rehabilitation. It also helps reduce physical strain on caregivers, ensuring safe and efficient transfers.

Patient lifts are available in various types, including manual lifts, electric or powered lifts, sit-to-stand lifts, and ceiling-mounted lifts. Manual lifts are operated by hydraulic systems, while electric lifts use a motor for effortless operation. Sit-to-stand lifts are ideal for patients with some upper body strength, and ceiling lifts offer a permanent transfer solution.

When selecting a patient lift, consider the patient’s mobility level, weight, and specific needs. For example, an electric lift may be better for heavier patients or caregivers needing less physical effort. A sit-to-stand lift is suitable for those with partial mobility. Consult your healthcare provider for personalized recommendations.

Yes, patient lifts are designed with safety features like sturdy frames, secure slings, and brakes to ensure stability. Regular maintenance and proper use, as outlined in the manufacturer's instructions, are essential to maximize safety. Home use can provide comfort and independence for patients while easing caregiving responsibilities.
