"The in-situ sling with padded legs is comfortable enough for my mother to sit on all day. The mesh version is perfect for showering and dries quickly."

Arjo Loop In-Situ Sling with Padded Legs

The Loop in situ sling-padded legs is suitable for everyday patient handling activities, such as bed and chair-related transfers. It may be left under the patient between transfers (if clinical assessment allows).

Selecting the most appropriate sling is important to ensure that it is suitable for the patient/resident, for the type of transfer required and compatible with the lift being used. The use of patient handling equipment such as mechanical lifts with the appropriate sling is a core component of a safe patient handling program.

This sling is intended for assisted transfer of passive patients/residents with limited ability to move and require full support during transfer.

Arjo Loop In-Situ Sling with Padded Legs

  • Low-profile, in-situ design
  • Padded leg sections
  • Polyester and mesh options
  • Loop style compatibility
  • Machine washable

The sling is used together with passive lifting devices to transfer patients in a seated/semi-reclined position to and from the bed, chair or wheelchair during care activities and from the floor.

Independent testing indicated that the sling did not interfere with the performance of a typical seated support cushion. This can support clinical decision making when assessing the risk of leaving the slings underneath patients for a period of time between transfers, which can promote efficient workflows and reduce the need for additional patient handling.

This sling should only be used together with Arjo passive lift systems (loop attachment) in accordance with the allowed combinations page on the specified section of the Instructions for Use.

A patient lift is a device designed to assist caregivers in transferring individuals with limited mobility between different positions, such as from a bed to a wheelchair. It is ideal for patients with conditions like paralysis, severe arthritis, stroke recovery, or post-surgical rehabilitation. It also helps reduce physical strain on caregivers, ensuring safe and efficient transfers.

Patient lifts are available in various types, including manual lifts, electric or powered lifts, sit-to-stand lifts, and ceiling-mounted lifts. Manual lifts are operated by hydraulic systems, while electric lifts use a motor for effortless operation. Sit-to-stand lifts are ideal for patients with some upper body strength, and ceiling lifts offer a permanent transfer solution.

When selecting a patient lift, consider the patient’s mobility level, weight, and specific needs. For example, an electric lift may be better for heavier patients or caregivers needing less physical effort. A sit-to-stand lift is suitable for those with partial mobility. Consult your healthcare provider for personalized recommendations.

Yes, patient lifts are designed with safety features like sturdy frames, secure slings, and brakes to ensure stability. Regular maintenance and proper use, as outlined in the manufacturer's instructions, are essential to maximize safety. Home use can provide comfort and independence for patients while easing caregiving responsibilities.
